RRR Snubbed At The Oscars: SS Rajamouli’s Film Not Nominated For ‘Best Picture’ After All The Hype

This international award seasoned promised to be one of the most promising ones in history for Indian films, as Telugu blockbuster RRR scored multiple nominations across several Hollywood awards.

After scoring a ‘Best Foreign Language Film’ nomination at the Golden Globes and winning the ‘Best Song’ award in the same ceremony, the international hit had it’s hopes up to score a ‘Best Picture’ nomination at the Oscars – but it was met with disappointment earlier on Tuesday, as the official Academy nominations were announced.

RRR was not the official entry from India to the Oscars in the ‘Foreign Language’ category, as Gujarati film ‘Chhello Show’ was submitted for the same – because of which Rajamouli campaigned for his film in the main ‘Best Picture’ category for months.
