‘Bollywood walon, agar maine phir se yeh word suna.. class lagegi’, Kangana Ranaut after Pathan Success

Kangana Ranaut recently got her Twitter handle back, after she was blocked on the platform a couple of years ago – for her alleged objectionable tweets. And soon after her advent to the platform, the actress became her usual vocal self on various topics – the highlight of which was her view on the success of the recently released Pathaan.

The Shah Rukh Khan starrer has been shattering box office records and has garnered the biggest-ever opening for a Hindi-language film, promoted as a comeback film of the superstar after his box office setbacks in the recent past.

Kangana too chimed-in on the success of the film and congratulated SRK and the makers, however the actress was not happy with one thing.

The ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ star expressed her anger at an alleged narrative being driven after the success of the film, which aims to show it as a triumph over hate – after the boycott calls that were made against it.

Taking to hoer social media, Kangana called out those who were calling the film’s success a ‘triumph over hate’, warning them against using the phrase.

Here’s what the Emergency actress wrote:

“Bollywood walon yeh narrative banane ki koshish mat karna ki iss desh mein tum Hindu hate se suffer kar rahe ho, agar maine phir se yeh word suna ‘triumph over hate’ toh tum logon ki wahi class lagegi jo kal lagi thi, enjoy your success and do good work, stay away from politics.”

In another post, she yet again called out the notion of ‘triumph over hate’ by stating:

“All those who are claiming Pathan is triumph of love over hate,I agree but whose love over whose hate? Let’s be precise, whose is buying tickets and making it a success?Yes it is India’s love and inclusiveness where eighty percent Hindus lives and yet a film called Pathan..Which shows our enemy nation Pakistan and ISIS in good light is running successfully, it is this spirit of India ”

Pathan has opened with great numbers for Shah Rukh, even after strong boycott calls were made by a certain section of moviegoers ahead of the release of the film. However, it is yet to be seen if the film consistently manages to pull the numbers it did in it’s opening day.

Meanwhile, Kangana has finished the shooting of her much-anticipated film Emergency – which will release in theaters in October 2023.

The film will see her essay the role of the late Indira Gandhi – the former prime minister of the country, during the notorious period of Emergency in the country back in the early 70’s.

The film is produced under her home production company – Manikarnika Films.
