“A learning experience to be directed by Kangana Ranaut,” Writes Anupam Kher As Emergency Wraps Shooting

Kangana Ranaut’s highly anticipated and ambitious directorial venture ‘Emergency’ has completed filming, as announced by the actress herself on her social media.

Curated under her home production company – Manikarnika Film, the film sees Kangana wearing multiple hats – including the lead character of the late Indira Gandhi, former prime minister of India, portraying the controversial period of emergency in the country back in the early 70’s.



Soon after completing the shoot of the film, Kangana hosted a wrap-up party inviting all the crew and cast to celebrate the moment.

Anupam Kher, who plays a pivotal role in the film shared a picture from the party, also writing in caption how it was an experience to be directed by Kangana. The ‘Kashmir Files’ actor went on to call ‘Emergency’ – a mammoth film, and Kangana – brilliant.

‘Emergency’ – which is Kangana’s second film as a director after Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, is scheduled to be released – 20 October 2023.
