Beauty standards have certainly changed over the years, but more so in the last one decade. And it isn’t all for the better.
With the advent of social media, and more normalcy around cosmetic and botox procedures, people have developed an unrealistic expectation towards body types and facial features.
Making it all the more worse, the thousands of filters used and applied by social media beauty gurus and Instagram influencers, do not serve well to the shaky self esteem of those countless coming-of-age fans following them.
But things were much simpler back in the day. The pre-internet, pre-social media days. When actresses of all shapes and sizes, of all colors and proportion of features, were deemed beautiful.
A viral video doing the rounds, featuring the natural beauty of some of the actresses from the 90’s Hindi cinema, has reminded people of the simplicity of those times. And also how it didn’t take much to be beautiful back in the day.
Take a look at this little video montage which showcases how beauty really came in all shades back in the day, compared to today – when everyone basically looks the same (perhaps because they all go to the same surgeon).

Ah, can’t we go back to the days of such inclusive standards of beauty?
The rigidity of today’s standards is tiresome.
