“Every Indian Should Celebrate This Achievement” Anupam Kher reacts after Rishi Sunak becomes UK PM

History was scripted as Rishi Sunak became the first Indian origin prime minister of the United Kingdom. The conservative party leader became the 57th Prime Minister of UK, replacing Liz Truss, who served as UK’s shortest serving PM.

The 42 year old newly elected PM is also the first man of colour to lead the country. Veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher also reacted to the news and shared his immense pride in the moment.



The Kashmir files actor took to his Instagram handle and shared a picture of Rishi Sunak and said that every Indian should celebrate this achievement.

He wrote in the caption in Hindi that translates to:

“The question is not whether Rishi Sunak is a Hindu, a Muslim, a Sikh or a Christian. It should be a matter of pride that an Indian is this in the 75th year of our country’s independence. Has become the Prime Minister of the country, who ruled us for almost 200 years. Every Indian should celebrate this achievement! Jai Hind.”



Comments started showering on Anupam Kher’s post, while many user said how proud they are to be Indian, some also talked about bringing back the Kohinoor from Britain now.

Anupam was last seen in Karthikeya 2 and will next be seen in Uunchai that stars other veteran actors such as Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, Danny Denzongpa and Neena Gupta.
