90 Year Old Pune Woman Visits Her Pakistan Home First Time After Partition, Becomes Emotional Remembering Her Childhood

Reena Verma, a 90 year old resident of Pune, visited her ancestral home in Pakistan first time after the Partition.

The 90 year old received a warm welcome from the people of Rawalpindi with Dhol beats.



An emotional Reena walked down the streets of Rawalpindi, recalling her memories of childhood. She stood in front of her house, touched its walls and became emotional after reaching the balcony.

While speaking with the media and the people, Reena sang the 1982 song to express her joy upon reaching her home in Pakistan, she sang, “Yeh galiyan yeh chaubara Yahan aana an hai doobara Ab hum toh bhaye pardesi Hamara yahan sab kuch hai,”

The overjoyed Reena was also quite ecstatic to know that the house built by her father is still almost the same, “My father made this house with much hard work and I am very happy that the house is mostly the same. It has changed only a little and those who are staying here are lovely,” she said.



The 90 year old has a three month visa to stay in Pakistan. The videos and pictures of her homecoming has become immensely popular on social media.

Reena also requested the youngsters of both India and Pakistan to live in peace and harmony, stating that both the countries have same culture and lifestyle.
