Singer KrishnaKumar Kunnath – popularly known as KK – has passed away.
The renowned vocalist and talented singer, who rendered some of the most famous tunes in Bollywood and beyond has died at the age of 53, soon after his live performance in Kolkata.
Known for hits like ‘Tu Hi Meri Shab Hai’ and ‘Yaaron’, the singer died just hours after performing at a concert in Kolkata on Tuesday.
Early reports state that the singer fell down at the stairs at the hotel in which he was staying after his performance was finished at the concert. The hotel was located at Kolkata’s Nazrul Mancha auditorium.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but was declared dead upon arrival.
The tragedy has shocked his fans, who have been listening to him since his rise to prominence with the Indipop scene back in the 90’s.
Shockingly enough, Malayalam singer Veteran Singer Edava Basheer – also passed away earlier this week, in similar circumstances. The veteran singer was performing in Kerala, when he collapsed in the middle of his performance and was then rushed to a hospital – where he was pronounced dead.
Truly a tragic loss – especially with the uncertain circumstances in which he passed away.
