Inspired By Film ‘Dasvi’, 12 Agra Jail Inmates Clear UP Board Exams, Abhishek Bachchan Says, “Bigger Than Any Award’

Movies often have the power to inspire and shape our society as we know it.

Not only do films reflect the times they are made in, but they also have the power, reach and influence to inspire people to live, act and achieve a certain way.

Case in point, Abhishek Bachchan’s recently released ‘Dasvi’.

The film, which basically revolves around the subject of a middle-aged man’s continued attempt to clear his secondary education and exams, despite failing at multiple attempts, has inspired some real-life stories as well.

And those stories come from – Uttar Pradesh’s Agra Jail.

12 inmates of Agra Central jail have apparently cleared their UP 10th board exams, after taking inspiration from the film.

Interestingly, the film was shot in the same jail in the period 2021 and 2022 and it was during the shooting of the film, the inmates took inspiration and enrolled themselves for the exam. It has also been reported that 3 inmates have also cleared Class 12 exams.

The news also reached Jr. Bachchan, who couldn’t be more ecstatic upon hearing it.

The actor called the news “bigger than any award”, as he expressed his joy on the impact it had.

He said:

“It feels wonderful when you see the positive effect a film you’ve been a part of make in real life. Credit has to go to the students and to my director, Tushar. His belief in the film and the story he wanted to tell. This news is bigger than any award or accolade we as a team could have received”

Truly an inspiring story of cinema’s impact!
