Asha Bhosle, no doubt, is one of the most versatile female singers who ever graced the recording studio in the Indian music scene.
The diva, who started her career in the 1940’s, has sung a record-breaking number of songs in numerous languages – and her talent has been exemplified in her classic recordings from Bollywood and beyond.
Apart from her starring career as a playback vocalist for Hindi films, Asha also earned a name for herself with her Ghazal recordings.
During the 1980’s, she went further into that realm and recorded a duet album with none other than Ghulam Ali, who was younger than Asha – but had quite a reputation in the world of Ghazal music.
One of her most beautiful ghazals was also featured on this album, which was called ‘Yun Saja Chaand’ – which not only showcases her agility and range as a vocalist, but also her prowess as a Ghazal maestro.
Lyrically, musically and vocally – it is truly one of the best things Ms. Bhosle ever recorded, and if you are a fan, then you certainly have to know about it.
