Kangana Ranaut got some ‘secret calls’ praising her for her recently launched trailer of her new film ‘Thalaivi’.
Why were they ‘secret’?
The actress has now alleged that many big stars are scared of the ‘movie mafia’, and with her stance against Bollywood-biggies, they’re afraid to praise her publicly.
The actress, whose forthcoming and much-awaited biopic on the late political leader Jayalalitha – garnered great response from fans, has stated that she got calls from big names like Akshay Kumar, yet they weren’t willing to praise it publicly due to fears of the so-called ‘movie mafia’.
Here’s what she stated:
“Bollywood is so hostile that even to praise me can get people in trouble, I have got many secret calls and messages even from big stars like @akshaykumar they praised @Thalaivithefilm trailer to sky but unlike Alia and Deepika films they can’t openly praise it. Movie mafia terror.”

She further stated on the subject:
“Wish an industry of art can be objective when it comes to art, and not indulge in power play and politics when it comes to cinema, my political views and spirituality should not make me a target of bullying, harassment and isolation but if they do, then obviously I will win …”
