Rihanna and Her Cosmetic Company ‘Fenty Beauty’ Facing ‘Child Labour’ Allegations

International Pop singer Rihanna, who found a new level of fame among Indians earlier this month – after her tweet on the country’s socio-political divide on the farm-bill issue, has landed herself into a new controversy.

The singer and her cosmetic company, called ‘Fenty Beauty’ is facing global protests pertaining to allegations of child labour.

Rihanna has come under the lens in India for allegedly sourcing mica in her products from mines in Jharkhand, which are already accused of using child labour.

Mica is a shimmering, heat resistant mineral which is used in cosmetic products.

The star had previously stated that her cosmetic products are cruelty free, but the ‘breaking news’ by IANS has invited global outrage towards her and her company.

Fans across the world are now Tweeting the star, questioning an alleged usage of child labour in her brand, due to the source of the ingredient.

According to reports, a complaint has also been filed with NCPCR in India, which is a child rights body.

The star or her brand are yet to respond to the accusations and the complaint.
