British Actress Jameela Jamil were among a handful of international celebrities who had taken the talk about India’s ongoing farmers protest, global.
The London-born actress had extended support to the ongoing farmers protest, after the likes of Rihanna, Mia Khalifa and Greta Thunberg had also tweeted on the issue.
She has now alleged that she’s been receiving a few violent and rape threats following her public support to the movement.
“I have repeatedly spoken about the farmers in India over the past few months and what is happening there at the moment, but each time I do I am met with death and rape threats” – she stated on her Instagram post.

While several Indian supporters of the ruling government had called-out the notion of international celebrities speaking on the issue, calling the protests an ‘internal affair’ of the country, it hasn’t stopped the likes of Greta, Mia and Jameela in continuing to speak about it.
This two-sided war between different political ideologies seems never-ending. Having said that, it is never ok to send threats to anyone, because of differing political views.
