If the Unites States has ‘Statue Of Liberty’, India too will soon have a ‘Statue Of Unity’ – a 597 feet tall sculpture of Indian independence movement leader, Vallabhbhai Patel.
The statue, which has been under-construction since the year 2014 in the state of Gujarat, will finally be unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 31st.
Gujarat government had previously cited the statue as ‘world’s tallest’ – standing several feet above the current record-holder – China’s ‘Spring Temple Buddha’, which is 420 ft tall. New York City’s iconic, ‘Statue Of Liberty’ stands at a height of 305 feet (from ground level).
Apparently, this is not only going to be a symbol of unity – celebrating the very ideologies of Patel, but would also serve as a major tourist attraction for the state.
Take a look at the astonishing grandeur of the statue before you pay it a personal visit.

Goosebumps-inducing, right?
Patel was one of the most iconic leaders who fought for the unity of various groups across the nation post independence. Despite being one of the most prominent leaders of the Indian National Congress, his ideologies and largely unsung legacy, has been adored and admired by both BJP and RSS.
So, are you planning to be the first one to visit the statue when it gets unveiled?
