Indian television, particularly the daily-soap operas, have long tried to dumb-down their target audiences with content that is so stupidly written and performed, that it almost seems like a parody of itself.
With painfully-prolonged and brainless twists on stories, oppressed female leads, constant thunderstorms, and over-the-top editing – these serials seem to have taken Indian television on a downward spiral, especially when you compare it with the television of the 90’s.
In yet another ‘brain-dead’ instance as such, an episode on a Bengali daily soap-opera showed a doctor performing CPR on a character, using kitchen scrubbers in place of electronic shockers.
The faux pas was caught by viewers and the whole thing was shared on Twitter, turning it into a viral discussion with some hilarious online reactions.
Watch it below:
Did the makers really think it wouldn’t come to notice?
Here’s how people reacted to this travesty on Twitter:
1)
Look at the monitor, heart rate is 71 beats per minute, spo2 93% and respiratory rate 29 per minute. Doesnt even need CPR in the first place 🤦

I am a doctor and we do CPR exactly like that. On a vitally stable patient with kitchen scrubber brushes. https://t.co/Ln9gkffhhK

Can the makers of these shows please stop treating their audiences like infants?
We deserve better content!
