Since the whole world seems to have come to a standstill due to the ongoing pandemic-induced lockdown, a number of convocations for freshly graduated students have also been barred across the world.
Since no such public gatherings are taking place at the moment, due to obvious safety reasons, students and faculty-members of IIT-Bombay – came to a unique way of celebrating their freshest batch of graduates.
The institution’s 58th annual convocation ceremony was held in virtual reality, with both students and faculty presented in their digital, animated avatars.
The convocation ceremony was held across a two-hour-long Live stream, to make the year memorable – despite all that is going on right now.
A number of technicians collaborated to bring the animated convocation to life, curated over a period of 2 months. And the results were widely applauded by students across India.
