Way before she made her entry in Bollywood as a leading actress of the 90’s, Juhi Chawla started off as a beauty queen.
The bubbly actress, who became a household name with several hit films under her name, like Hum Hai Rahi Pyaar Ke, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Ishq and Darr, to name a few – first gained fame as the winner of 1984 Miss India competition.
She then went on to participate in the Miss Universe competition in the same year, representing Indian at the international beauty pageant.
Juhi was only 17 years old at that time and although she did not win the competition, she did manage to the winner in the National Costume round, for which she won a traditional pink lehenga and gold jewelry.
Several decades later, the clippings to the competition are going viral again, which feature the aspiring star beaming through the competition with her trademark smile.

Juhi Chawla was last seen in a prominent role in 2022’s Sharmaji Namkeen. She also co-produced and starred in Amazon Prime’s drama series – Hush Hush.
