Pathaan has come as a tsunami at the box office, which is sweeping away everything that is coming it’s way, setting new records at the ticket window.
The Shah Rukh Khan starrer mass-attraction has opened with the biggest-ever numbers at the box office, making a record at the opening weekend. Within the first week itself, the film has crossed the 600 crore mark at the global box office.
Naturally it is not a time, when new releases would like to jump-into the picture – since the mass-appeal remains with Pathaan.
Keeping that in mind, the forthcoming Karthik Aaryan starrer ‘Shehzada’ has been moved to a later date, which the makers claim was ‘out of respect’ to the SRK starrer.
‘Shehzada’ – which features Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon was scheduled to be released on the 10th of January, but it has now been shifted forward a week, as confirmed by the makers.
The film will now be released on January 17th.
The press announcement stated:
“#Shehzada gets a new release date! Out of respect for #Pathaan this #KartikAaryan #KritiSanon starrer directed by #RohitDhawan produced by #BhushanKumar #AlluAravind #AmanGill and #KartikAaryan the family entertainer will now release on 17th February 2023”
Going by the current trent, Pathaan would easily surpass the coveted benchmark of 1000 crores at the box office.
As for Shahzada, it would be interesting to see if it repeats last year’s success of Bhool Bhulaiyya 2 – which catapulted Kartik to a new level of stardom.
