Recently singer Sonu Nigam was caught in the midst of a violent outbreak of sorts when a supposed “fan” tried to forcibly take his selfie after his recent live show.
The concert was taking place at Chembur area earlier this month, when Sonu was surrounded by a group of men as he attempted to get down from the stage.
It is not confirmed what happened during the interaction, but soon a man was seen getting thrown off the stairs in a violent outbreak, that ended up with security coming-in to escort the singer.
While the Mumbai police have seen registered a case against the man, who is being reported to be a popular MLA’s son, fellow singer Shaan has also extended his support to Nigam, demanding strict action against the culprits.
Taking to his social media, Shaan shared a screenshot of a press release from Indian Singers’ Rights association. He added in the caption:
“I’m am appalled and disgusted at what has happened .. and in Mumbai ?!? A city that is known for its law and order, and safety.
As a fellow artist, a fan, as part of fraternity I expect some action to be taken by the Authorities against the miscreants responsible for this rowdy misconduct and violence ..”

Not only is this incident exemplary of an unruly behavior, but it also raises concerns about the security protocols at events like these.
