Ranbir Kapoor Says He Didn’t Deserve ‘Best Actor’ Award For Brahmastra, Internet Agrees With Him!

Every year as the Bollywood awards season arrives, internet can’t help but bring up the subject of nepotism.

For it is seen in nearly every ceremony year after year, how majority of awards are swept off by star-kids – or banners that are often accused of running the factories of nepotism.



This year too, as the Dadasaheb Phalke awards were announced, the Best Actor and Best Actress awards were taken-up by husband-wife duo – Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt respectively, which did not go down well with a lot of cinegoers.

 

While Alia won it for a critically acclaimed performance in Gangubai, Ranbir won the award for a rather critically panned act in Brahmastra – something that even he has now recognized he wasn’t deserving of.

The actor responded to the backlash during a recent media interaction and admitted that he didn’t deserve a win for the film.



“Of course I am very grateful ki mujhe yeh sammaan dia. I don’t think I fully deserve it for Brahmastra. Vo bohot badi kuch acting performance nahi thi. Jab bhi kuch award aata hai to of course you feel great.”

Ranbir and Alia’s wins were also called-out by actress Kangana Ranaut, who has always been very vocal when it comes to the debate of nepotism.
