Rakhi Sawant was detained by by Mumbai police earlier on Thursday over a complaint filed by fellow B-town actress Sherlyn Chopra, over the former’s alleged usage of ‘objectionable language’.
Sawant was brought to the Amboli police station after her anticipatory bail was rejected by Dindoshi Court.
Sherlyn had filed a complaint against Rakhi for usage of ‘objectionable language’ among other things.
The news of Sawant’s arrest was shared by Sherlyn also, who made the most of the arrest and took to her Twitter handle to write:
“BREAKING NEWS!!!
AMBOLI POLICE HAS ARRESTED RAKHI SAWANT IN RESPECT WITH FIR 883/2022
YESTERDAY, RAKHI SAWANT’S ABA 1870/2022 WAS REJECTED BY MUMBAI SESSIONS COURT”
For the unversed – Sherlyn and Rakhi have been going back and forth with very strong accusations against each other, after the former had alleged producer Sajid Khan, who’s an industry friend of Rakhi, under the ‘me too’ movement.
While Sherlyn’s ‘me too’ allegations against Sajid are going on a separate legal track, the conversation was derailed when Rakhi jumped into it, calling out Sherlyn for speaking against Sajid.
Rakhi was released later in the day, and she was seen greeting those waiting outside to click pictures of her, with both her hands joined to greet them.
