It has been 10 years since the last Krrish film was released.
The Hrithik Roshan starrer helmed by his filmmaker father, Rakesh Roshan, featured the actor in the role of a life-saving superhero – a character that was especially loved by kids and teens of the generation.
The series and the character was interestingly sprouted from an entirely different premise set-up in the sci-fie alien film ‘Koi… Mil Gaya’, which was released in the year 2003, consequently setting up the base for the first Krrish film which was released in 2006.
Years later, the series is set to be revived again with a new installment.
Confirmed by Hrithik himself, Krrish 4 is said to be already in motion and will see the actor reprising the role of the kid-friendly superhero.
Interestingly, according to some media reports the film may also see the character of ‘Jaadu’ being brought back into the franchise, after it was last seen in ‘Koi.. Mil Gaya’ – 20 years ago.
The lovable alien was a favorite among kids and kids-at-heart back then.
While Hrithik did not give much details about the forthcoming installment, it is being reported that the film may come to fruition by the end of 2023.
Would be interesting to see who it shapes-up considering the changing viewing habits and expectations of Indian cinegoers.
