Sonu Nigam had an as successful sting in IndiPop back in the day as he has had with his career as a playback singer.
The classically trained vocalist was one of the biggest things in Indipop during the rise of non-filmy music and albums, with the release of his monumental release – Deewana.
The album still serves as a reminder of the kind of success that was seen by independent releases back in the day.
This was reminded to the audiences yet again, when actress Kangana Ranaut was promoting her film ‘Rangoon’ back in 2017.
The star made an appearance on Indian Idol, where Sonu was serving as a judge, and went on to shower praises on him and his iconic album.
Sonu Nigam was seemingly left blushing as the beautiful actress called him ‘the first crush’ of that generation. She then asked Sonu to sing the title track of the album and later complemented him by saying – ‘mar mite hum’.
