Kantara Beats New Bollywood Releases Of This Friday, Earns More Than Mili, Double XL & Phone Bhoot

The fourth Friday of Kantara is higher than the new releases of Bollywood, when we talk about box-office collections.

The critically acclaimed film by Rishab Shetty, which has garnered immense love online, remains the first choice of moviegoers, even on it’s fourth weekend, as the Hindi version of the film alone has earned more than new releases of this Friday, like Mili, Double XL & Phone Bhoot.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh reported that the Hindi version of the film collected an impressive 2.10 crores on it’s fourth Friday.

The highest grosser from the three new releases was the Katrina Kaif starrer Phone Bhoot, which managed to rake-in 2.05 crores on it’s opening day.

As for the other two new releases – Double XL and Mili – both films have tanked badly on their opening day. While Jahnvi Kapoor’s Mili has reportedly grossed a disastrous 35 lakhs only, Double XL – which features Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi, has performed even badly, grossing only 30 lakhs.

It is a downhill road for these two films from here.

Meanwhile, Kantara continues to roar and has already emerged as one of the most notable hits of the year, especially when you compare the budget-to-profit ratio.

Made on a humble budget of 16 crores, the film has already grossed over 300 crores worldwide, and continues to go strong, due to extremely positive word of mouth.
