“Is Bollywood blind, deaf & dumb?” Asks Vivek Agnihotri After Success Of Small Budget Films Like The Kashmir Files & Kantara

Director Vivek Agnihotri yet again hits out at Bollywood for not learning from their mistakes after success of many small budget and unexpected movies in 2022.

Several big budget and highly anticipated Bollywood movies failed miserably at the box office, movies such as Shamshera, Dhaakad and Laal Singh Chaddha sank at the box office.

The Kashmir Files director took to twitter and gave example of movies like Rocketery, Kantara, Karthikeya 2 and his very own The Kashmir Files.

He wrote:

“4 small films with no stars, no marketing or distribution support – #TheKashmirFiles, #Kartikeya2, #Kantara & #Rocketry earned approx. 800 Cr at BO. Total cost of production of 4 films under 75 cr. Is Bollywood blind, deaf & dumb that they don’t understand simple Maths and learn?”

His post garnered many reactions from the fans, one user wrote, “Unlearning is a difficult and time consuming process,”

The Kashmir files was made in a budget of 15 Crores and after a slow start it became a revolution in the field of entertainment, the word of mouth promotion played a huge role in the film’s success and the worldwide collection was gross 341 crores.
