Amou Haji – Who Went Viral As ‘World’s Dirtiest Man’ Dies At 94, Months After Taking First Bath In 60 Years

Amou Haji – the 94 year old man from Iran who had earned himself the title of ‘world’s dirtiest man’ has passed away at the age of 94.

The nomad from Iran was deemed by netizens as the world’s ‘dirtiest man’ after it was disclosed that he had not taken a bath for several decades.

Haji had previously stated that he had a phobia with taking a bath, and felt that if he did so he would fall ill. He also earlier stated that it was not taking a bath all these years, that has kept him free of all diseases and because of which he hasn’t fallen ill even once.

Haji passed away on October 23 in a remote village in Iran’s southern province of Fars, just months after he did in fact take his first bath in over 6 decades.

Haji had garnered attention across the web after several blogs and websites reported on his story and his life of social isolation. Locals stated that he faced some emotional setbacks in his youth, which led him to lead this life, refusing to take a bath.

It was just recently that local villagers had persuaded him to take a bath, even though he had refused it multiple times in the past – out of fear of falling ill.

Sadly, a few days after the ‘cleanliness drive’, Haji fell ill and passed away.
