‘Wish I Could Sue Her’: Falguni Pathak finally breaks silence on Neha Kakkar’s remix of ‘Maine Payal Hai Chhankai’

Neha Kakkar has once again become the target of music lovers for remixing another classic song from the 90s. The singer has this time chosen to remix the 90’s Indiepop classic sung originally by Falguni Pathak, ‘Maine Payal Hai Chhankai’.

The former Indian Idol contestant is being criticized highly by the netizens. The music video has garnered 20 million views in 5 days while the original song by Falguni Pathak has over 350 million views.



The music video features Neha herself, Big Boss fame Priyank Sharma and cricketer Yuzvender Chahal’s wife Dhanashree Verma.

Falguni Pathak was sharing the memes against the singer for ‘Ruining a classic’ song as claimed by netizens on her social media handle. But now the iconic singer has openly shared her opinion for the remix, speaking with Pinkvilla she said that she desires to sue Neha Kakkar for ruining the song but she has not got the rights to do so.

“I wish I could but the rights are not with me.” She told Pinkvilla.

She also said that she is overwhelmed to see the outpouring love from the fans from across the country, “I feel overwhelmed and touched on receiving so much love from all over for the song, so had to share their feelings.”



Falguni Pathak who is also known as ‘The Dandiya Queen’ became a sensation in the 90s with her extremely talented and pleasing voice. The talented singer gave us many memorable song such as, ‘Maine Payal Hai Chhankai’, ‘Chudi’, ‘Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaye’, ‘Saawan Mei’ and many others.
