Will Brahmastra Also Become A FLOP Because Of ‘Boycott Trends’ On Social Media?

We have recently witnessed how some of the most anticipated Bollywood projects, that hailed from big banners, came with huge budgets, and boasted of big stars, have all tumbled at the box office.

Be it Samrat Prithviraj, Shamshera or the recently released Laal Singh Chaddha, the failure of Bollywood’s biggest stars at the box office has been rather shocking.

On any other given year in the past, these films may have been great successes – because of all the hype they carried with them, but for some reason – Bollywood seems to have rub a certain section of moviegoers the wrong way, and that is reflecting in the retaliation we’ve been seeing online in the form of ‘boycott trends.’

Now another mega-budget film, the fate of which hangs in absolute uncertainty is the Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Brahmastra’, which has been backed by Karan Johar as a co-producer.

Weeks before the release of the film, which is said be curated on a humungous budget of around Rs 200 crores, boycott trends have been going viral against the film.

So will Brahmastra be able to break the dry spell in Hindi film box office or will it face the fate of it’s counterparts?

It would be interesting to see if the film, with a huge PR machinery behind it, is able to break away from the curse and all the odds against us and is able to relate with the audiences.
