The highly anticipated trailer of Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan -1 was launched on Tuesday in a grand event in Chennai. The trailer launch was attended by Legends such as Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan.
Aishwarya Rai also grabbed headlines at the event, as the Taal actress arrived in a beautiful black and silver ethnic dress, grabbing all the attention from the fans.
Aishwarya also touched Megastar Rajinikanth’s feet and took his blessings at the trailer launch, for which the former Miss World received a lot of praise from the netizens.
The trailer has received millions of views across various languages in less than 24 years of its release. The movie is based on the era of the great Indian Chola dynasty, and the breathtaking sets along with the VFX will leave your mouth opened.

The trailer starts with the background voice of Kamal Hassan saying, “A thousand years ago, before the golden era of the Chola empire dawned, a comet appeared in the Chola sky. The Oracles predict that the comet would claim the life of someone from the Royal family of the Cholas. Rivals surround the kingdom. The sea grows turbulent and treachery invades the Chola palace.”
