Shweta Tiwari Says She Has Advised Her Daughter Palak To Not Marry, “I don’t believe in the institution of marriage”

Shweta Tiwari has very publicly had troubles in her past relationships, including her very bitter and public separation with her first husband, Raja.

Shweta had previously also alleged there there was violence and physical abuse in her marriage, and it served as one of the reasons why she decided to part ways.



Her second marriage to Abhinav Kohli in 2013 also met similar fate.

The actress has now made it clear that she no longer believes in the institution of marriage and even advises her daughter not to marry as well.

Shweta’s daughter, 21 year old Palak Tiwari – has garnered a name for herself through social media and her appearance in number of hit music videos. But Shweta maintains that as far as marriage goes, her advise to her daughter is crystal clear.

In a recent interaction with ETimes, here’s what Shweta was quoted telling:

“I don’t believe in the institution of marriage. In fact, I even tell my daughter not to get married. It’s her life and I don’t dictate to her how to lead it, but I want her to think well before taking the plunge. Just because you are in a relationship, it doesn’t have to culminate into marriage.”



Shweta maintains that she is thankful for being a working woman and being financially independent, as that has enabled her to live her life in her own terms.

On the work front, Shweta will soon portraying a character closer to her own personal life as she will be seen playing a single mother on screen in the show – Main Hoon Aparajita.
