Kamal Haasan Remembers Queen Elizabeth By Recalling Her Visit To His Film Marudhanayagam’s Set

On Thursday, the longest serving British monarch Queen Elizabeth II passed away at the age of 96. The queen died in scotland’s Balmoral castle after sitting on the throne for more than 70 years.

Veteran Indian actor Kamal Haasan took to twitter to share his condolences and recall his two meetings with the British Queen. The Vikram actor met with the queen twice, once in 1997 and second in 2017 at Buckingham palace.



Kamal Haasan recalled her visit to his film Marudhanayagam’s set and called it her probable ‘only film shoot she ever attended’. he shared a picture from the meeting and wrote, “I was saddened to hear the news of the death of Queen Elizabeth II of England. She was loved not only by the British but also by the whole world. 25 years ago, she accepted our invitation and attended the opening ceremony of Marudhanayakam. It was probably the only film shoot she attended.”

The movie that was supposed to be the biggest ever of Indian Cinema was being made at a whooping 85 crore budget at that time, but eventually it had to shelved as the investors backed out from the funding.



The superstar actor then shared another of him with the queen, this time he met the queen at the Buckingham palace, in the picture Kamal can be seen greeting the queen by shaking her hand, he wrote while sharing the picture, “I still vividly remember meeting her at the Palace 5 years ago at a cultural event in London. My deepest condolences to the people of England and the Royal Family for the loss of their beloved Queen,”

Kamaal Haasan was recently seen in the action movie ‘Vikram’ which became a huge nationwide success at the box office.
