Amitabh Bachchan Pays Heartfelt Tribute To Raju Srivastava, Reveals He Sent A Note For The Comedian

Tributes have been pouring from every corner of the country since the passing of veteran comedian Raju Srivastava. Raju who was hailed by many as ‘The King of comedy’ passed away at the age of 58 due to heart attack after staying at the hospital for 42 days.

Raju Srivastava was a huge admirer of Bollywood’s legendary star – Amitabh Bachchan. The 58 year old comedian was a fan of Big B since his teenage days and that could be seen from his dressing sense and hairstyle in the early days of his career.



Amitabh Bachchan paid a heartfelt tribute to the popular comedian by penning an emotional note for him.

Amitabh on his blog wrote, “Another colleague, friend, and a creative artist leaves us. A sudden ailment and (he is) gone before time, before his creativity time completion. Each day in the morning, with him in spirit and information from near ones.”

He further confirmed that he sent a voice note for Raju when he was admitted at the hospital, extending whatever help to the family for his treatment, Big B wrote,



“They got advised to send a voice to awaken his condition. I did and they played it for him in his state in his ears. On one instance he did open his eye a bit and then, went away. His sense of timing and the colloquial humour of his birth shall remain with us. It was unique, open, frank, and filled with humour. He smiles from the Heavens now and will be the reason for mirth with the God’s.”

Raju Srivasta was often seen doing mimicry of the Kaun Banega Crorepati host and became quite popular for it.

Raju rose to fame with his participation in the comedy reality show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. Before this he also featured in popular movies like, Maine Pyar Kiya, Baazigar and others.
