Netizens Praise Akshay Kumar For Admitting His Fault For The Box Office Failure Of His Movies Recently

Akshay Kumar is receiving a lot of praise on the internet for taking responsibility of his the failure of his recent movies, at the box office. The actor’s stand has been called a refreshing change, compared to other stars, as he has taken it all on himself, instead of blaming the audience.

The superstar actor has witnessed a series of bad performance of his movies at the box office. His much anticipated movies like Bachchan Pandey, Samraat Prithvraaj and now Rakshabandhan all failed to live up to the hype, the actor usually creates with his movies.

Even though his movie Rakshbandhan received better reviews from the critics as compared to Aamir’s Laal Singh Chaddha, but it still could not pull fans towards the theatres.

During the trailer launch of his thriller movie, Cuttputli. Akshay Kumar talked about the failure of several Hindi movies at the box office and the option to release movies directly to the OTT Platforms as asked by the reporter.

Akshay said, “No, see, Films are not working, it is our fault, my fault. I have to make the changes. I have to understand what the audience wants. I want to do some changes. I want to dismantle the way I think and the kinds of films I should do. There is nobody else to be blamed for it but me.”

He further talked about OTT and said, “It is not safe, that also requires people to say if they like the trailer or not. Nothing is safe, it is not our safety net. Even here (on OTT) people are watching, the media is watching it, the critics are watching it, the audience is watching it, they give feedback whether they like it or not. So, there’s nothing like creating a safe space, you have to work hard, period.”

Fans showered praises on Akshay for his humble reply, one fan wrote, “This has been the most humble things a celebrity told for their flops.”

While another wrote, “Akshay has rediscovered himself so many times, if there is someone who can get people back quickly to theatres it’s him,”
