Alia Bhatt Says ‘If You Don’t Like Me, Don’t Watch Me’, Gets Brutally Trolled Online

Kareena Kapoor’s past statement, in which she lashed out at the critics of nepotism, came back to haunt her during the release of her new film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’.

Apparently Indian audiences doesn’t easily forget, as they remembered how the actress had once said “”The audience has made us, no one else has made us. Same people pointing fingers are the ones who have made these nepotistic stars right? Aap jaa re ho na film dekhne? Mat jao. Nobody has forced you.”

Now actress Alia Bhatt has also been trolled online for saying something similar, when asked about her opinion on the ongoing ‘boycott debacle’, that has already sunken a lot of Bollywood big-budget films.

Alia, who’s geared-up for the release of her forthcoming film ‘Brahmastra’, which features her now-husband Ranbir Kapoor in the lead, was asked if the online trolling, affects her – especially the calls pertaining to the boycott of films.

During her recent interview with Mid-Day, here’s what she was quoted as saying:

“I can’t keep defending myself verbally. And if you don’t like me, don’t watch me. I can’t help it. That’s something I can’t do [anything about]. People have something to say. Hopefully, I will prove to them with my movies that I am actually worth the space I occupy.”

Needless to say, Alia was brutally trolled was her remark, as many pointed out that they’d “gladly oblige” to her request of not seeing her film, like they did with Kareena.

Others also pointed out how it wasn’t exactly smart to instigate an already charged-up scene, merely weeks before the release her most ambitious film yet.

It looks like Alia may have rubbed people the wrong way with her comment.
