Aamir Khan Joins ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign, Displays Tricolour At His House

Aamir Khan is the latest name from Bollywood who has joined the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign led by the prime minister of India, Narendra Modi and the ruling BJP government.

The actor was seen hoisting and displaying the Indian flag at the balcony of his house, ahead of the 75th celebration of India’s independence on the 15th of August.

The star was seen alongside his daughter Ira Khan, as the two also happily gave a bite to shutterbugs that spotted them at the balcony of his Mumbai home.

This comes in the wake of the ongoing controversy surrounding Khan’s latest film – ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, which is being boycotted by a large group of people, as the actor is accused of hurting Hindu sentiments with his past statements and films. He has also been accused of speaking ill about India, after allegedly calling the country ‘intolerant’, post the 2014 victory of the NDA government.

Despite rigorous promotions on social media and beyond, the mega-budget and ambitious project from Aamir has failed miserably at the box office, earning a mere 12 crores on it’s opening day, and going downhill with a collection of approx 7 crores on it’s second day.

The film is made on a budget of 180 crores, so if it continues it’s streak like this, the resultant collection would be catastrophic for the producers.
