India’s performance in the T20 series against England in their home has been no short than spectacular. Team India totally dominated England in all departments to win the series by 2-1.
Many young players got a chance to shine in such important series and they did not disappoint. Newcomer Deepak Hooda, Arshdeep Singh and Ravi Bishnoi all showed promise with their performance.
In the third and final T20 India had put an experimental line up, giving chance to some more players to play their part in the series. Even though India lost the third T20i against England but even with such squad India gave England a run for their money. Surya Kumar Yadav played one of the greatest ever t20 innings by scoring a magnificent century.
The only worrying thing for India in the series was top Batsman Virat Kohli’s form who still struggled a lot to put some runs on the board. India’s performance has impressed many former players and critics around the world and one such man is the former Pakistani Captain Shahid Afridi, who picked India as the favorites for upcoming world cup and also praised India’s clinical bowling attack.
Afridi took to twitter and wrote. “India have played outstanding cricket and deserve to win the series. Really impressive bowling performance, they’ll surely be one of the favorites for the T20 World Cup in Australia”
Indian pacer Bhuvaneshwar Kumar is in the form of his life as he delivered some unplayable deliveries to the English batsmen to make their life difficult on the pitch. Hardik Pandya was also critical for India’s victory both with the bat and ball and will be a critical part of team India in the upcoming world cup.
India will play England in the 50 over format today with some big English players such as Joe Root, Ben stokes and Johnny Bairstow are set to return to the line up.
