FIR Filed Against Mahua Moitra For Her ‘Meat-Eating, Alcohol Consuming’ Remarks On Goddess Kaali

An fir has been filed against TMC Leader Mahua Moitra after her controversial comments on Goddess Kaali. Protests have been held against her in many places demanding her arrest for hurting religious sentiments.

Mahua made the controversial statement speaking at the India today conclave in which she reacted on the controversy around a film poster showing Goddess Kali smoking a cigarettes.



Mahua said, “For me, Goddess Kali is a meat-eating and alcohol-accepting goddess. And if you go to Tarapith, you will see sadhus smoking. That is the version of Kali people worship (there). I, within Hinduism, being a Kali worshipper, have the right to imagine Kali in that way; that is my freedom.”

The FIR has been filed by BJP Leader Durgesh Keswani under section 295-A.

Her statement has sparked huge outrage across the nation and even Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan reacted on this and said, “Mahua Moitra’s statements have hurt Hindu religious sentiments. Insult to Hindu gods and goddesses will not be tolerated.”

After the FIR, Mahua took to twitter and responded to the actions being taken against her, she wrote –



“Bring it on BJP! Am a Kali worshipper. I am not afraid of anything. Not your ignoramuses. Not your goons. Not your police. And most certainly not your trolls. Truth doesn’t need back up forces.”

Not only that the Delhi BJP has also filed a complaint against her and Canada based filmmaker Leena Manimekalai for offensive Maa Kaali poster.

Mahua’s comments have stirred up the controversy big time across the country and things do not seem to calm down any time soon.
