Kangana Ranaut Extends Support To BJP Leader Nupur Sharma, Says “When Hindu Gods Are Insulted….”

BJP Spokesperson Nupur Sharma has landed in big controversy after her comments on Prophet Muhammad on a live news Debate show. Nupur Sharma received big backlash not only from India but from other Islamic countries too. The Bhartiye Janta Party took action on her by suspending her from the party on Sunday.

But the controversy is far from over as the BJP Spokesperson is getting violent threats over the internet and people want her to be arrested. Amid threats, Nupur Sharma’s security has been increased by Delhi police

Actress Kangana Ranaut on Tuesday voiced her opinion on the controversy and backed Nupur Sharma for her comments, Kangana took to her Instagram story and wrote –

“Nupur is entitled to her opinions, I see all kinds of threats targeted at her, when Hindu Gods are insulted which they are almost every day we go to court, pls do that no need to play dons yourself…(sic)” wrote the actor.”

Kangana further said that India is not Afghanistan and has democracy,

“… this is not Afghanistan, we have a proper functioning government which is chosen with a process called democracy… just a reminder for those who keep forgetting,” she added.

Few days ago, when the controversy was getting bigger, Nupur Sharma took to twitter and shared her statement over the issue, she wrote –

“I have been attending TV debates for the past many days where our Mahadev was being insulted and disrespected continuously. It was mockingly being said that it is not Shivling but a fountain. The Shivling was also being ridiculed by comparing it to roadside signs and poles in Delhi.”

She further added:

“I could not tolerate this continuous insult and disrespect towards our Mahadev and I said some things in response to it. If my words have caused discomfort or hurt religious feelings of anyone whatsoever, I hereby unconditionally withdraw my statement. It was never my intention to hurt anyone’s religious feelings.”
