“I’m Going To Court”: Pakistani Singer Threatens Karan Johar Alleging Him Of Plagiarism Over ‘Nach Punjaban’ Song

Pakistani singer Abrar-ul-Haq has called-out Karan Johar for allegedly using a plagiarized version of the singer’s song in one of his films.

The song in question is ‘Nach Punjaban’ which is featured in the upcoming film ‘JugJugg Jeeyo’, and Abrar has stated that he’s going to take a legal action against Johar and T-series for “stealing” his song, as he had not permitted the usage.

Sharing his appeal on social media, he stated that it is not enough that the makers have just mentioned his name on the YouTube video of their new song, without officially taking his permission to use it in their film.

In his video upload, he can be heard saying:

“A lot of fans have been asking me ‘why haven’t you gone to the court against Karan Johar and T-Series for stealing your song Nach Punjaban. The answer is yes. I’m going to the court, don’t worry.”

He adds:

“Merely saying that the credit has been given because the song is well-written and would make their movie a hit. I never gave you the song, I never gave anybody the rights to my song. It belongs to me, so I’ll get it back and I’m coming to the court, see you there.”

He even tagged Karan Johar in the post, however the filmmaker is yet to respond to all the allegations.

In response to this who fiasco, T-series had previously clarified:

“We have legally acquired the rights to adapt the song Nach Punjaban from the album Nach Punjaban released on iTunes on 1st January 2002 and is also available on Lollywood Classics’ YouTube channel, owned and operated by Moviebox Records Label, for the film JugJugg Jeeyo produced by Dharma Productions”.

Do you think it a real allegation or just a publicity stunt from either of the parties?

Have your say…
