‘I have no regrets of quitting Bollywood after my first film’, Says Bhagyashree

Bhagyashree – is one of those rare heroines from Bollywood who got over-night fame of an unprecedented level after their debut film.

The former actress made her debut alongside Salman Khan in the mega blockbuster, ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’ back in 1989 and despite turning herself into India’s sweetheart, she left showbiz soon after the success of the film – when big opportunities were just landing on her doorstep.

Bhagyashree, who was just 20 years old around the time of the film’s release – decided to get married and start a homely life, not letting showbiz get the best of her. A decision, she now says, she still doesn’t regret.

In a recent conversation with ETimes, the actress who was recently seen in the Kangana Ranaut starrer – Thalaivii, essaying the role of her mother, stated that she does not regret her decision to quit films, as her family and her children offered her the best of both worlds.

She said:

“My children are the wind beneath my wings. So, no regrets because I feel I got the best of both worlds.”

Her stint in Thalavii was praised by her fans, even though it was a small supporting role. The film was a success on OTT platforms – where it was released in multiple languages.

As for Bhagyashree, she is now set to appear as a judge on dance reality show – DID Super Moms alongside Urmila Matondkar and Remo D’Souza.
