It has been 21 years since the Aamir Khan led magnum opus – Lagaan, hit the cinemas in the year 2001 – and went on to create history.
This Ashutosh Gowarikar directed masterpiece went on to garner international acclaim, as it also earned an Oscar nominated in the ‘Best Foreign Language’ category, becoming the 3rd only film from the country to earn that recognition.
Although, Lagaan didn’t win – but it was established as one of the most revered movies of that time and of both Ashutosh and Aamir’s careers.

More than 2 decades later, the cast and crew of the celebrated film reunited recently for a get together – to go down memory lane and to pay homage to a film that was a game-changer.
Aamir Khan, Ashutosh – along with more than a dozen of the film’s cast and crew members had a warm get together, celebrating the film on it’s 21st anniversary.
The ‘homely’ celebration also had special guests – former Indian cricketers Irfan Pathan and Aakash Chopra, in attendance.

This and Swades remain two of the most fantastic films from Hindi cinema in last 2 decades, so we certainly hope we get to see more from the genius brain of Ashutosh.
