Unique Restaurant In Pune Has Staff Members With Speech Disabilities, Taking Order In Sign Language

A thoughtful venture in Pune has has been in the news lately, for it’s remarkable attempt to bring inclusivity in the society.

The restaurant has hired people with different kind of speech and hearing disabilities in it’s kitchen and attending staff, who take orders and communicate with the diners and customers through sign language.

The beautifully thought-out restaurant, which is named – ‘Terrasinne’, has been brought to life by Dr. Sonam Kapse, who’s an oncologist and wanted to setup something like this to help serve the community.

Calling it a “socially conscious dining initiative”, Dr Sonam also pointed out how the raw food material for their restaurant is also directly sourced from local farmers.

The menu card of the restaurant has been designed as such, so as to give a sign symbol to each dish – making it easier for diners to order their food, while communicating to the waiters and table attendants. .

Take a look inside the beautiful initiative below:

Truly an amazing idea.

We need more ventures like this, that aim to bring inclusivity and employment to the marginalized sections of the society.

Keep them coming and congrats to Dr. Sonam Kapse for this one!
