Ramayan Actress Dipika Chikhlia Who Played Sita TROLLED For Wearing Skirt With A Drink In Her Hand, She Responds…

Dipika Chikhlia – who famously played the role of Goddess Sita in the iconic television series ‘Ramayan’ (the OG version from the 80’s), was recently at the receiving end of internet trolls’ wrath.

The actress shared a pic from her private life, in which she was seen attending a party with her female friends, wearing a skirt and holding a drink in her hand in a wine glass.

This somehow irked many people, who have viewed her with this ‘godly image’ that the mega-hit show curated and perpetuated for several years, so much so – that she eventually had to delete the picture.

Dipika also spoke to Etimes after all the drama that followed since that picture, and went on to apologize to her fans for hurting their feelings.

She stated:

“I never want to hurt my fans. I am feeling bad that I have been trolled. I am feeling bad that I have hurt my fans’ sentiments”

Not only that, Dipika went on to justify (not that she had to), that she wasn’t drinking any form of alcohol after all:

“I was not drinking alcohol. I am not into alcohol. It was just a small get-together between old friends getting into a nostalgic mood”

Clearly, show’s like Ramayan and Mahabharata – which were a major part of every Indian’s life, prior to the cable-TV era, have created such a larger-than-life image of the actors – that they are still viewed upon as a vessel of the godly characters they portrayed.
