Hansal Mehta Marries Longtime Partner Safeena Hussain After 17 Years Live-In Relationship And Two Children

‘Aligarh’ director Hansal Mehta has finally got hitched.

The 54 year old filmmaker has tied the knot with his longtime partner, Safeena Hussain – who’s a social worker.



The two had reportedly been in a live-in relationship for over 17 years, but just officiated their union in the form of marriage earlier this week..

Hansal, who’s directed movies like ‘Shahid’, ‘Simran’ and ‘Haasil’, started dating Safeena back in 2005 and the two shared a committed relationship through the years. They, in fact, also have two grown sons – who congratulated their parents on social media as they officiated their union.

The two finally got hitched in San Francisco, California, earlier this month.

Sharing the news on social media he wrote:



“So after 17 years, two children, watching our sons growing up and chasing our respective dreams we decided to get hitched. As always in life this was also impromptu and unplanned.
