Dhaakad Review: Kangana Ranaut Dazzles In One Of The Best Action Thrillers From Bollywood In Years!

After much anticipation, Kangana Ranaut has officially conceived one of the first mainstream action heroines of Bollywood in celluloid.

With her butt-kicking avatar as Agent Agni in this Friday’s ‘Dhaakad’, the actress has excelled all expectations.

After garnering acclaim for a variety of roles, ranging from the naïve and innocent ‘Raani’ from Queen’ and the head-over-heels ambitious athlete ‘Datto’ in Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Kangana has now brought to the table India’s own female action figure – with this Razneesh Ghai directorial.

The film has a runtime of over 2 hours and it is tightly packed with edge-of-the-seat thrilling moments, while also allowing the story to be built up for an amazing finale.

The backdrop of the protagonist’s story and her bloody past brings more meaning to all the rage seen in her face as she mercilessly, slaughters her enemy down, tasting their blood and living for every moment of it.

This is probably the most badass female assassin you may have seen on-screen.

Arjun Rampal – who’s the main antagonist of the film, keeps you hooked with his role as ‘Rudraveer’. This might be among his top 3 career-best roles and transformations, yet.

Divya Dutta as Rohini brings to fore her raw talent. Every time she appears on-screen, she sets it on fire with her presence.

The action sequences and the fight-choreography is slick and world-class, and the actors deliver them with a sense of spontaneous realism, especially the leading lady. The stylish cinematography, definitely makes it a visual delight to watch, even with all it’s blood and gore.

All in all, Dhaakad serves as one of the best action thrillers released in Hindi cinema in the past many years and a path breaker for females in the genre.

A must watch!
