Amitabh Bachchan, Shabana Azmi & More Prominent Personalities Visit Santoor Legend Shiv Kumar Sharma’s House To Pay Homage To Him

Santoor legend Shiv Kumar Sharma, whose popularity was widespread during the 80’s and 90’s, and who represented Indian music on various national and international platforms through the years, passed away earlier this week at the age of – 84.

The late musical legend also did extensive work in Hindi films, mainly mainstream Bollywood music, which further catapulted his popularity among the masses.



To pay homage to the iconic classical composer and instrumentalist, several Bollywood personalities were seen attending his funeral ceremony at his Mumbai residence.

A remembrance ceremony was organized by the family members of the late maestro, which was attended by Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar, Ila Arun, among others.

 

Big B was seen interacting with the family members of the late musician, as he also earlier took to his social media to pay homage to him.

In his post, he wrote:

“There is the passing away of the Maestro , ShivKumar Sharma, who played the santoor, a special instrument, from the valleys of Kashmir .. who designed so many film musics for me and many others .. continued success after success, numbs you from the pain of pain .. as also the reverse..”



Interestingly, Shiv Kumar Sharma had also composed the music for Amitabh’s iconic 1981-released film, Silsila, which also starred Rekha, Jaya Bachchan and Sanjeev Kumar.
