Amitabh Bachchan Responds After Troll Calls Him ‘Buddhe’: “I pray no one insults you in your old age”

One of the biggest drawbacks of being on internet is making yourself available to all kinds of trolling, bullying and uninvited remarks. And to that, even celebrities or politicians are not immune.

Case in point – Amitabh Bachchan, who was recently at the receiving end of an ageist remark by a troll on his profile.

The 79 year old senior actor was called ‘Buddhe’ by a troll on his Twitter handle, and he did not ignore the remark and ended up responding to the same.

The user asked Mr. Bachcan why he was getting up so late, in response to his post of waking up and starting the day.

“Abe buddhe dopahar ho gayi” – the user wrote.

An understandably agitated Bachchan responded to the user stating he prays no one treats them when with such words when they reach a certain age:

“I pray that you have a long age but no one insults you by calling you a ‘buddha’ then”

Freedom of speech is fine. But would it be too much to expect people to be civil, especially to somewhen elderly?
