Akshay became emotional at the trailer launch event, thinking of his late mother – Aruna Bhatia, who passed away last year in September, just a day before his birthday.

“I wish my mother… If she was here, she would have been so proud.” the actor said, while addressing the press, visibly emotional and overwhelmed at the event.

The actor also said that he is proud to do such a film for the first time in his career – “I want to say that in my 30 years of career, I am doing such a big historical for the first time. It’s a matter of pride for me that I was offered this film. Mera jeevan safal hogaya ke mujhe yeh mauka mila,” he said

While addressing the media Akshay also suggested that the film should be showcased to all kids in schools, so that the children can also learn about the great warrior of India.

“Everything you see in the film is true, it has indeed happened. But we don’t know about it. I really find it amusing. Dr saab (director) has been researching this for 18 years! That’s the amount of hard work he has put in the film.” Akshay said

The film also stars Sanjay Dutt in an important role, along with Sonu Sood, while also marking the screen debut of Miss World Manushi Chillar. The movie is set to hit the theaters on June 3rd.
