‘We Used To Sleep Outside’: Soha Ali Khan Recalls When There Was No Electricity At Pataudi Palace

Living in a gigantic palace isn’t always fun. At least as per Soha Ali Khan’s account.

The actress and daughter of former late Nawab of Pataudi – Mansoor Ali Khan, recently recollected her younger years while living at the iconic Pataudi palace.

Soha recalls how the palace did not have electricity back then. So when they would come to visit the place as kids, they’d be sleeping outside under mosquito nets.

In a recent interview with The Indian Express, the ‘Rang De Basanti’ actress was quoted as saying:

“I remember the time when there was no electricity and we had visited as children. We used to sleep outside, under macchardani (mosquito net). Now we have AC, but back then, there was no AC and no mobile phones. So, it was a complete cut off.”

Sara also recalled how she often visits the place with her four year old daughter Inaaya, and that is where she feels the closest now to her late father.

The Pataudi palace now serves home to Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, as the former had been named the tenth Nawab of Pataudi after the demise of their father.
