‘I’m tired of being home’: CID Actor Shivaji Satam Says He’s Not Getting Any Work

Acting is a profession that always has a lingering uncertainty around it. The nature of the very job is such that it remains in the category of ‘seasonal employment’, and hence it remains a constant struggle for those who aren’t in the category of ‘big stars’ who are able to get one project after another.

CID actor Shivaji Satam is also facing something in that line.

The famous star of one of the most popular TV shows in Indian television history, has stated that he’s been out of work for a while, and is now dreading to get back on the field.

Here is what the 71 year old actor was quoted as saying by Etimes:

“‘I won’t say that I am getting many offers. Nahi hai toh nahi hai. There are one or two offers that are not interesting as well. I am from Marathi theatre, I have always done projects that I liked.”

He further added:

“It’s my bad luck that no powerful characters are being written. It’s a loss on both sides. As an actor, I miss out on good work and the audience misses out on good actors.”

He went on to add that if tomorrow they start CID again, he’d still be willing to do that role:

“Tomorrow if CID starts again, I’ll be right in the front to do the project. I’m not tired of playing the character, but tired of being home.”

Let us hope we get to see the talented actor soon in something!
