Ameesha Patel is all set to make her return to showbiz, with the long procrastinated sequel to her juggernaut hit – Gadar.
Repairing with the film’s hero – Sunny Deol, the two will be bringing to life the film’s iconic characters once again, under the same team of makers.
While that happens, the 45 year old is also busy updating fans with her whereabouts and the progress of the film, that is presently keeping her busy. In the midst of all the love and support they have received, as the sequel awaits its return, the actress has also been marred by some online trolling, pertaining to her age and her absence from films for quite a long time.
One such “fan” on her Instagram handle ended-up a calling her a ‘flop’ actress, and the comment grabbed headlines in media articles recently, as the actress’ close-friend and film producer Kuunal Goomer jumped-in on her defense.
Kuunal replied to the comment on IG, which called the actress ‘flop’, asking them to use their ‘top floor’ (meaning their brain).
But all that aside, it is good to be reminded of the fact, that while Ameesha may have been away from the scene for quite a while, she has been far from a ‘flop actress’, especially during the early phase of her career.
For whatsoever reason, right films did not fall in her kitty later on, the actress was a part of some of the biggest blockbusters of the early 2000’s.
Apart from ‘Kaho Na… Pyaar Hai’ and ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ – which were massive, record-breaking hits, she also starred in other hit films like – Humraaz, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Mangal Pandey and Honeymoon Travels PVT Ltd, etc.
Let us hope the actress gets to prove her naysayers wrong again with Gadar 2 and everything that follows after that…
